photo added 10/25/08 - today is the 2nd test flight of
the behemoth at the negros aeromodellers runway
photo added 10/25/08 - is that a mamal or a bird?
photo added 10/25/08 - the steering wheel of my plane is
made from a hydraulic piston head rubber that was glued
together and it was wagling during roll on ground take off
and cannot absorb shock during landing causing the bending
of the landing rods
photo added 10/25/08 - my first attempt to building my
own nose wheel from two bottle covers and a silicone gasket
maker.
photo added 10/24/08 - very cheap foam was used for this
project with single coating of marine epoxy as stiffener
photo added 10/24/08 - after looking at photos of real
airplane, i decided to build a cessna 152 type look a
like airplane
photo added 10/24/08 - i started with a profile of plane
and from there will begin forming the section. i only used
a blade cutter to cut the foam. i would be happy if someone
can donate a hot wire foam cutter:)
photo added 10/24/08 - laying the template you see how
large this airplane when finished
photo added 10/24/08 - near completion with cowling to be
added. i changed the windshield with a light blue colored
acetate, looks nice than a clear plastic sheet.
photo added 10/24/08 - what a teribly large plane.
photo added 10/24/08 - this airplane looks great at this
side
photo added 10/24/08 - you will notice that i have a homebuilt
wheel here. everthing is 100% handcrafted
photo added 10/20/08 - junior pilot rj beside the experimental
airplane
photo added 10/20/08 - this guy is not a member of ilaga
nor a brgy. tanod, but he'd seen plenty of sigbins in
the past!
photo added 10/20/08 - nice plane ey?
photo added 10/20/08 - with the creator himself
after the success of my first foamie plane, i have decided
to build an even larger plane at 80inches wingspan to be
powered by a .40 glow engine.
cheap foam is easy to cut and shape and a single thin
coating of epoxy can make it tough yet undeformed. look
at the mess all over.
engine was mounted on a plywood reinforced with epoxy and
some ply bracing as well.
what an nice profile! tested a roll on the ground with
wings mounted this morning and engine sure is powerpacked
with plenty of pulling power.
i rebuilt the nose wheel out from cloth hanger. it is important
to have a stress free landing gear to prevent breaking the
servo arm
servos mounted inside fuse
engine is powerful with a bite mounting proves very tough
and in total authority.
